To digitalize receivables financing processes, a cloud-based B2B factoring service platform was designed and implemented as a prototype: a secure, scalable architecture on Microsoft Azure, integration into existing enterprise systems, and AI components for automated risk and credit assessment, fraud detection and intelligent workflow control. dip took on project management, architecture and business analysis.

The group aimed for a leaner, more efficient IT landscape in order to use resources for future-oriented initiatives, secure its competitiveness and improve service quality. To this end, dip analyzed the group-wide application portfolio for consolidation potential, with a focus on IT service management and using enterprise architecture, portfolio management and data analysis methods along the TBM taxonomy. The findings feed into the planning of the client’s IT strategy.

For a renowned German department store group, dip supported the finance department in a challenging corporate situation. Backlogs had built up in several sub-departments. dip took on active process management and optimized IT-supported processes, with analyses of the accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, requirements management in the SAP FI environment and process documentation in BPMN.

Architecture, ITSM and project consulting for the introduction and design of strategic, enterprise-wide development platforms: the goal was to select and introduce the most suitable platform services from a business, technical and economic perspective, for data management and analytics, data governance, IoT, AI, enterprise integration and developer experience. This included assessments and proofs of concept of services from different cloud providers, IT portfolio and roadmap planning, and presenting the results at C-level.

Vendor support was expiring for operating systems and databases at an internationally operating bank; without security updates, this posed an operational risk under legal and regulatory requirements. In global upgrade and migration programs, dip was responsible, among other things, for upgrading the SQL Server estate on around 1,200 SQL and Windows servers and helped the client bring all affected systems to supported versions in time and achieve the required software compliance.

Following the preliminary analysis and planning, dip helped a client in the financial sector build its hybrid cloud environment, connected the client to the Microsoft Azure platform, and planned and initiated the migration of database servers from on-premises to the cloud. dip took on project management, migration management and enterprise architecture, covering topics such as identities (Azure AD, ADFS), encryption and Azure Key Vault, virtual networks and security monitoring.
dip engagement
For a client in the financial sector, dip prepared the preliminary analysis and planning for migrating on-premises databases to Microsoft Azure (scope approx. 3,000 databases) as well as an integration concept connecting the cloud services to the existing ITIL-based IT operations processes and the ServiceNow service management tool. This was based on a catalog of criteria for the applications and infrastructure in scope, a business case and the planning of the migration waves, an IT compliance review of the cloud services, and decision papers for top management.

When an outsourcing framework agreement for IT services was renewed, dip helped design the contract structures so that new service requirements could be embedded and future contract changes would be simpler, and monitored whether the negotiation positions delivered the intended benefits. In a further initiative, dip supported outsourcing application operations & support as a managed service, with project and requirements management, a business case and contract analysis.

The goal was a model that largely automates determining the compliance of IT services with frameworks such as COBIT, international standards and legal and regulatory requirements. To this end, the sources of requirements were identified, the data structures analyzed and an end-to-end data model (requirement to measure point) designed, to be populated with concrete content in production.
dip engagement
Together with an IT service provider, an IT service catalog with service definitions and service units was created and agreed so that the supplier could price the agreed units in a bidding process. dip developed the proposal for the pricing model, aligned it iteratively with the supplier and validated the supplier’s price indication.
dip engagement
To validate a client concept, a prototype of a service portal was developed, covering ordering of service catalog items, reporting, service help desk, ticket management and cost tracking. dip took on software architecture as well as requirements, test and project management: from assessing the requirements and writing the specification to steering the development work, acceptance, testing and quality assurance.
dip engagement
An audit had identified additional process documentation needs in the audited business unit. dip captured and documented the as-is processes in a standardized way and then modeled optimized to-be processes together with the client that also address further internal and external compliance requirements, for example in risk management.
